|Green Party leader Peter Bevan-Baker with "the Big Cheese", a.k.a. Ann Bevan-Baker, at "Green Halloween" in Summerside on October 26th.|
You can't have helped but notice that the snow returned on Tuesday, but did you know that MLAs also returned to the Legislature that very same day? Read on below to learn how you can cozy up on cold, windy days to watch the goings-on in the People's House (where warmer air is sometimes known to blow :-) )
With snow also comes the festive season! The Green Party has a couple of fantastic holiday-themed events coming that are sure to warm you up: Hannah Bell and the District 11 Greens are hosting a Green Christmas mixer on Wednesday, Nov. 21st, and Susan Hartley and the District 2 team are calling you to the coziness of the Hazelbrook Homestead on Dec. 1st for a Festive Green Social.
We hope to see you at one of these events in the next couple of weeks!

The Legislature is back in session since this past Tuesday, and Peter and Hannah are feeling well-prepared to keep advancing important issues for their constituents and all Islanders.
Tuesdays 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm
Thursdays 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm
You can expect our Greens in the Legislature to continue their focus on such priority issues as climate change, housing and poverty. Already this week, our Green MLAs have:
...pressed the Premier on his flip-flop on the need to put a price on carbon pollution:
...and held government accountable for announcing "increases" to the shelter and food components of social assistance rates, when in fact those increases do not even account for the inflation in the cost of food and housing over the period in which they will take effect.
Earlier today, Hannah Bell's private member's bill, An Act to Amend the Innovation PEI Act, was getting support from MLAs of all parties. Hannah's bill would amend the Act to recognize the creative and cultural sector, and the clean technology sector, as "strategic sectors" of the PEI economy, ensuring that these sectors can benefit from programs and funding from Innovations PEI as well as other key industries.
Peter Bevan-Baker is also preparing to table a bill today to prevent the government from using taxpayers' money for clearly partisan advertisements such as the one he wrote about in a recent blog post.

Fun & Games with FOIPP Part 2 - by Peter Bevan-Baker, October 16, 2018. More in the ongoing adventures of the Third Party in attempting to obtain what should be publicly available information from government.
Would you rather - by Hannah Bell, October 18, 2018. For many Islanders, "Would you rather" is a painfully impossible game to play.
Thoughts on grandchildren and grand challenges - by Peter Bevan-Baker, October 25, 2018. Peter reflects on the heavy responsibilities both of being a grandparent, and of being an MLA at this time in history.
“Alternative facts” and alternative plans - by Peter Bevan-Baker, November 1, 2018. How far will the PEI government go in spreading misinformation about carbon pricing and the Green Party's made-in-PEI proposal?
How to spot a CAD - by Peter Bevan-Baker, November 8, 2018. While there are relatively few "Climate Change Deniers" left on PEI, there are plenty of "Climate Action Deniers" (CADs). Peter writes about how to spot the arguments of Climate Action Denial.
All over PEI, Green nominees and volunteers are getting geared up for the next election, getting into the community and hosting events.

The provincial government is currently inviting public input to its Sustainable Transportation Strategy. From the government website: "Sustainable transportation is a system that meets the needs of individuals, is affordable, efficient and adaptable to the future and limits greenhouse gas emissions and waste. It includes cleaner and more efficient vehicle technologies, walking, biking, carpooling and public and community transit and community planning and design."
