Candidate Statement

I want to be a candidate for the Green Party because this party demonstrates my core values. I believe the PEI Greens are our best opportunity to invoke change in our province. As a long-standing resident of Mermaid-Stratford, I have an understanding of the core issues in this district and believe I can be a strong representative for my community in our provincial legislature.

As a single mother with a young child, I have an understanding of the problems facing the education system due to the limited infrastructure and resources available. I also have a vested interest in working towards positive solutions. Our district is unique in that it includes both urban and rural communities. It will need the dichotomy of a district containing both urban and rural residents whose needs may be in opposition to each other. My district requires a candidate who is capable of seeing all sides of an issue and one who will work to find compromises. I am that candidate!

I will be a compassionate, honest, and hardworking MLA that will work for the constituents.
