For District 15 - Brackley-Hunter River

Greg Bradley

Greg Bradley, originally from the small PEI community of St Theresa, is a self-taught, lifelong carpenter, and was a member of the PEI Carpenters Union for 18 years. He also earned a degree in welding and metal fabrication and worked for a time building Coast Guard ships at the Georgetown shipyard. Greg is sought after for his craft he perfected over 40 years in the trade, and Incorporated his own construction company in 2001, specializing in heritage restorations, restoring some of Charlottetown’s finest old homes, and businesses, employing dozens of Islanders. Midway through his career, Greg played an integral role in the fabrication of the Confederation Bridge, where he was in charge of constructing the Guiness World Record-setting ”Drop-in Girders”, which at that time were the longest continuous concrete pours of their type in the world.

Greg had to discontinue his business several years ago as a result of work-related injuries, and multiple major surgeries, but has continued to do what he can in the construction field, such as consulting and advising homeowners. He is currently working on becoming a licensed real estate agent.

A father of three grown sons, Greg has always placed a high value on being involved in his community and helping to make the world a better place. He has volunteered with The Canada Games, Special Olympics PEI, and was one of the founding members of Cornwall Citizens on Patrol. He has been an active volunteer in youth sports, Scouts, and within his church, during the eighteen years he resided in Stratford, and has always been ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in his community. Some may remember Greg as an actor with The Stratford Players, which he acted with for many years. Greg loves cycling, hiking and sight-seeing in PEI’s great outdoors, and loves to chat about our beautiful Island to anyone who will listen. Greg has kept closely to the values with which he was raised, which included the respect and love of all people no matter their colour, race, religion, creed, or financial status. Greg believes helping others is a privilege, and not a chore. Greg has never taken a back seat when defending those who are not able to defend themselves, and has raised his sons in a similar manner. He has been at the top of his game, and started from nothing, so he is well aware of the many aspects of life and what it can throw at you, but has always seen life in a positive light, and is a very optimistic man.

Greg Bradley has always believed in the importance of active citizenship and participating in the political process. He ran twice for Stratford Town Council while living there in his early thirties, campaigning door to door after long days of carpentry work. Greg has been an active volunteer on a number of Green Party campaigns as well as during the 2016 plebiscite on electoral reform, as a passionate proponent of Proportional Representation.
