District 2 Georgetown - St. Peters
Jason Furness
Jason Furness is an outdoorsman, a musician, an activist, and a father. A resident of Summerville, Jason supports his three daughters by working in construction, drywall and home renovations. The multi-instrumentalist is a well-known Island musician and has a passion and talent for making music. He plays percussion, guitar, and bass with the Scott Parsons Band and the Plain Dirty Blues Band.
As a child, Jason was taught by his grandfather to understand and respect the cycles of the land. He has hunted and fished for food, and while still living at home he helped with the harvest up and down his road in exchange for produce. He has hiked across western Canada and enjoys being close to Nature by camping and cycling.
Jason is actively engaged in protecting the environment and human rights and is a key opponent of fracking in PEI. He believes access to uncontaminated drinking water is a fundamental human right and supports the Green Party’s policy to enact a Clean Water Act. Jason believes in living an honest, ethical lifestyle, and would bring those qualities to the PEI Legislature as a Green MLA for District 2 Georgetown-St. Peters.
