District 7 Morell - Mermaid

Darcie Lanthier

Darcie Lanthier is a longtime resident of Mermaid, where she and her husband Peter have built a home for their three sons Ian, Philip, and David. She has been an active member of the Mermaid Women's Institute since her arrival in the area, and has also sat on the Provincial Women's Institute Board of Directors.

An enthusiastic member of the community, Darcie has been an executive member of the Home & School Associations for Glen Stewart Elementary, Donagh Regional, Stonepark Junior High, and Charlottetown Rural. She may look familiar, having likely sold you a raffle ticket, contributed to your bake sale, or carpooled your children at some point in the past twenty-five years.

She is a passionate supporter of Prince Edward Island athletics, serving as the President of the PEI Tackle Football League, Manager of the Canada Games Female Wrestling Team, and serving as the Events Chair for Wrestling PEI.

Darcie has a strong history of project management and has built a record of entrepreneurial success. She is a founding partner of Mermaid Art Inc., the Island’s foremost art publisher. In 2006, Mermaid Art was awarded the Downtown Charlottetown Inc. Business Improvement of the Year Award for their work on “Thomas’s Old Stand”, the oldest commercial property in the Charlottetown core.

A long time practitioner of the three R’s, Darcie is an advocate for improved nutrition, particularly for children. Her goal is to lead a life as contaminant free as possible, and hopes to help Prince Edward Islanders do the same.
