District 22 Summerside - St. Eleanors
Caleb Adams
Caleb Benjamin Adams has spent most of his life in and around the Summerside area, fostering within him a love for the community and its people. He spent much of his early childhood scampering around in the woods of Seaview and on a small farm in Wilmot, where his respect for nature and his understanding of sustainable processes were nurtured and continued to grow.
Throughout his youth, Caleb spent his time keeping active in local sports, especially soccer. He is a huge supporter of youth sports, both team and individual, and would like to see a concerted effort to continue the tradition of sporting excellence in the Summerside area by engaging schools and community centers alike with the hope of directing more funds towards our children's development.
He attended Three Oaks Senior High School, graduating with a bilingual certificate, where he found himself drawn towards the environmental sciences and leadership programs. Upon graduation from high school, Caleb worked as a crew leader at a local dairy, where he also served as shop steward of the Union and sat on the labour committee. It was here Caleb gained insight into employer relations with employees and the surrounding community, which helped shape his view that a company should be a motivating vehicle for its surrounding community.
Currently, Caleb is pursuing a Carpentry Diploma from Holland College where he intends to work towards his Red Seal in Green Carpentry, which dictates that projects follow a higher standard of energy efficiency. His focus for his community is on sustainability, accountability and an emphasis on youth-oriented programs designed to engage all levels of the community.
His decision to become a candidate for the Green Party was based on his shared value with the party's ideals, including a participatory democracy of social inclusion, regardless of ethnicity or identity. Local self-reliance and long-term economical solutions developed on a community to community basis rather than sweeping reforms are another aspect of the party which Caleb agrees wholeheartedly with.
Caleb Benjamin Adams is the Green Party candidate for District 22 Summerside St. Eleanors.
